Speaker Bio

Ms. Alaina Finzer is a Department Manager for Industrial Hygiene services at Terracon Consultants, Inc. Ms. Finzer has accumulated extensive experience related to Industrial Hygiene. Throughout her career, Ms. Finzer has demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing vital programs to ensure occupational health and safety. She is a subject matter expert for respiratory protection programs, hearing conservation, occupational noise monitoring, sound level mapping, medical surveillance, hazard communication, hexavalent chromium/lead sampling, non-ionizing radiation, ventilation/engineering controls, etch line chemical exposures/sampling, and water sampling for drinking water standards and legionella control.

 Ms. Finzer played a key role in developing actionable solutions that maintained compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (AGCIH) employee exposure standards while supporting the organization’s overarching objectives. Ms. Finzer conducted employee onboarding and annual training, including hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and workplace chemical hazards.

 In her previous role as an Industrial Hygienist with VA Roseburg, Ms. Finzer was responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive occupational health programs. At the Veterans Affairs Health Care System (VAHCS) level, she skillfully managed crucial programs including blood-borne pathogen safety, prevention of healthcare-associated legionella and scald management, waste anesthetic gases evaluations, biological safety cabinet/fume hood certifications (pharmacy), dental mercury exposures, asbestos operations and maintenance program, fungal contamination investigation and remediation, office ergonomics, respiratory protection program, and laser safety.
